This lovely Chicago home was feeling a little traditional so the client asked me to modernize each room without taking away the wood wainscoting or warmth. I painted the interior walls “Cape May” Benjamin Moore and added dark coffered ceilings for a little drama. I injected color into each room through wallpaper, lighting and furniture pieces. In the bathroom's I replaced the existing brown tile with dark grays and electric blue tile from Ann Sacks. I customized a feature herringbone wall in the master bathroom and carried it through to the shower. This has become my client's favorite room in her house.
