Inspirations & Travel Blog

All my inspirations and travel on this blog are my own experiences and photos.

SANTA BARBARA

The perfect place for my family to go and get out of town for a few days is Santa Barbara. No matter what time of year we always enjoy hitting the beach, eating at all the amazing cafes and restaurants and taking in the beautiful Spanish colonial design and the quant city charm. There are so many places to choose from but below are some of our favs.

Handle bar coffee - There are two locations but I always enjoy the downtown spot as I can walk the dog and my daughter likes to scoot along next to me to get my morning latte and some amazing pastries from Renaud’s bakery . I like to pick up some of the coffee freshly roasted to take back home with us.

Lucky Penny - Lucky Penny is a crowd favorite in our house. They have a cute little store front to order to takeout or you can enjoy the heated patio outside. We love to take our dog Duke and soak in the hip atmosphere. We love the Lucky Penny Margarita Pizza and the Coffee Braised Pulled Pork sandwich. They also sell local Notary Public Rosé and the own LP popsicles which are delish.

Tyger Tyger - A great place for everyone to take the perfect instagram pic! This fast-fine restaurant has amazing fun interiors (lots of pink lanterns, pink chop sticks, and cool wallpapers. It is very casual, great southeast Asian cuisine, coffee and ice cream by Monkey shine.

Hendry’s Beach - Heading to the beach? Locals say that Hendry’s Beach is one of their favorite. We love it as the boathouse is right next door . They take reservations so it is a good idea to plan your lunch around your beach day. We take the dog as they are allowed in certain areas off leash on the beach so everyone is happy:)

Canary Santa Barbara - When traveling with the dog and kids I like to stay at the Kimpton hotels as they have such amazing service, great amenities and the interiors are always styled to the hotel location. This downtown hotel is perfect for walking to great restaurants and you can borrow one of their cute vintage bikes if you want to travel over to the very popular Funkzone.

Rosewood Miramar beach hotel - The Rosewood hotel has just opened in Santa Barbara and it has been well worth the wait. With the added bonus of the in house Goop store, James Pearse store and our favorite Malibu Farm restaurant this hotel has it all. It is very dog friendly (they even have daily dog walking services, and a custom pet menu. The beach is stunning, the interiors impeccable and the service is unbelievable!

Glamping - In the warmer months a fun thing to do is to stay at Auto camp The luxurious airstreams have great amenities close to the beach and are dog friendly! My kids cant wait to go back this summer!
